5 hacks every woman should know

Being a female has its ups and downs. I think as a female who doesn’t really have many other females to talk to besides a select few friends, it has all just been learning as I go. I am twenty-three and have learned a lot just over the last few years. I changed a lot of my habits even down to how I handle my periods and how I do my hair. Yes, this is my warning to you men out there that this blog does in fact talk a little bit about periods.

Now, I think every woman should know these five hacks I am about to share because personally I wish I would’ve know them sooner! Some of these I have been doing for a few years and some I have just recently added into my life a few months ago. They all are equally amazing!

Hack 1

Period cups. Yep, I have a period cup. Before you think “ew” or “there is no way I am using one”, hear me out. I have PCOS and battled long, painful periods for years. Or no period at all! When I got the IUD, which is a whole other blog on its own, my periods became worse. I could go through a tampon in 20 minutes. My doctor gave me the option of trying other things, but the copper IUD suited my needs best until I could get my tubes removed. So I did some research and decided to try a cup! Now it is not one cup fits all type deal. I recommend learning about the different ones and what you think is best. I personally have been using a saalt cup for coming up on three years. We have saved hundreds of dollars on feminine products alone. Although my periods are still very heavy, they did get shorter which is also common when using a cup. When you use a cup, it is reusable and healthier since it is not made full of chemicals. They have different types for different types of flow. I recommend trying one at home first before wearing one out. They truly are a game changer!

Hack 2

Don’t kill your hair by washing constantly and frying it with hair styling. This was a hard pill to swallow for me. I went from washing my hair every night to last 3-4 days sometimes. It is so much healthier for your hair if you don’t constantly strip away its oils. I found the CHI Lava straightener and hair care line which I love as well. Remember, you shouldn’t need to go above 350 F Degrees especially on color treated hair.

Hack 3

Lume deodorant. Lume was a game changer for me personally. I have always gotten rashes from other deodorants and most didn’t even work longer than a few minutes. They are a natural deodorant that actually works! I keep their small on the go bottle and deodorant wipes in my purse at all times. They also work great for when I am hiking and begin to chafe. Best thing is they don’t break the bank!

Hack 4

Apple Cider Vinegar. Every time I tell people ACV is the answer to everything, they look at me in a disgusted way. But again, hear me out! Apple Cider Vinegar has a ton of health benefits such as killing bacteria, promotes heart health, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, and even lowers blood sugar levels. It also is great for flushing out toxins and helping reduce bloat. I have used it for head aches, and within an hour felt better. It is great for boosting weight loss as well! If you can’t handle it diluted, I recommend finding a gummy or capsule because it really is wonderful for your overall health. I use Bragg Organic, but just make sure whatever brand you do use is “with the mother”.

Hack 5

Collagen powder. Collagen powder is a secret weapon for growing hair and nails while improving your skin. I have been putting mine in my coffee and tea for years. It helps you grow your hair faster than any HSN product I’ve tried before. Bonus, it also helps reduce cellulite and stretch marks. Plus great for your bone and gut health.

I hope you were able to learn a thing or two! All five of these I do constantly if not every day. I love being able to help empower other women and see them be their best self.

Xoxo
