A tasty snack for surviving the summer with kids

This blog is sponsored by Voortman Bakery but all opinions are my own.

During the summer, my kids are always asking for snacks while they are home. Finding tasty snacks and changing it up is hard, but fun at the same time. This summer I decided to do a fun snack activity once a week where we would sit down and make a tasty snack together. This week my oldest really wanted to make something with marshmallows. It had cooled down one evening which got me thinking to one of our favorites; s’mores! So this week we decided to do s’mores, with a twist!

I am a huge chocolate chip cookie girl and always have been. My favorite are Voortman Bakery Chocolate Chip! Since they began in 1951, they have been perfecting flavors, ingredients, and the art of making delicious cookies. Baked with real chocolate and no artificial colors, flavors, or high fructose corn syrup, I always make sure to keep Voortman Bakery Chocolate Chip cookies in the pantry for those days I get a random sweet tooth. For our s’mores I knew they would work perfectly instead of boring old graham crackers.

When creating snacks this summer I have made sure all of them have been fairly easy because working from home fulltime and having two toddlers can be hectic at times. These chocolate chip s’mores are not only scrumptious, but fairly easy for both kids and adults to make.

What you will need:

•1 bag of medium to large marshmallows

1 package of milk chocolate candy bars

How to make:

Step 1: Lay out two cookies per person upside down on a plate. Cut the milk chocolate candy bar into squares. On one side of cookie add one row chocolate and a marshmallow. We used extra large marshmallows because that’s what we had in our pantry. For an extra chocolately s’more, add an additional layer of chocolate on top of the marshmallow.

Step 2: For this snack, I used my air fryer. I put two cookie s’mores in my air fryer at 400 F for 4 minutes to get the cookie gooey warm and the marshmallow crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. You can also use a sheet pan and cook in them in the oven. Place on a plate or napkin once they heated up to your desire and enjoy!

These chocolate chip cookie s’mores are so simple, yet fun for the kids and so delicious no matter how old you are. We made them two days in a row and they may just be my new favorite guilty snack! One thing is for sure, Voortman Bakery Chocolate Chip cookies bring s’mores to a whole other level this summer.
