Always Eat After 7PM: Part Four

For the past month I have read and followed the Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. The past month has proven that so many so called “facts” such as you must eat a good, full breakfast and you can not eat carbs late at night are indeed myths. We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal. One of my favorite discoveries when reading the book was as stated below,

“Research shows that the average person’s metabolic rate is no different during sleep than during the day. In short, your metabolism doesn’t slow down at night. Nor does your body store fat at the end of the day. Whether it’s 8 am or 8 pm, you use food for energy the same way.”

It has been so much easier for my body to adapt to the Always Eat After 7pm since my body really did crave to eat the most food later on during the day. I easily adapted to IF(Intermediate Fasting) and love how my body performs during the day when I fast. Since following the diet, I have lost weight as hoped and seen a huge change in my metabolism all while still enjoying foods that I love. I never once have felt like I was restricted and I have began to see a whole new outlook on eating. I love being able to have the energy to play with my kids after long days. Seeing the happiness on their faces when mommy can play means the world.

Moving forward from here, I am so excited to continue the Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good. I will happily continue to cook my favorite recipes from the Always Eat After 7pm. Many are family favorites now! The book overall has so much great information. The diet has been easy to follow and I know that if I need help, the book is just a grasp away. This diet has been life changing for me! I can’t wait to see where I am in a year from now.
