It was a cool, rainy day in Texas and I was so anxious to meet my baby boy. I was only 18, but already loved my unborn son more than anyone could have imagined. We went into the hospital to be induced at 37 weeks due to my Lupus at about 10pm. After 16 and half hours of painful active labor, an hour of trying to get Macyn’s head unstuck from my pelvic bone and hip, and the most painful c-section I could’ve ever imagined, our sweet baby boy was born at 8:21pm weighing 8 pounds 13.5 oz’s and 21 inches long. He had blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes, and two little dimples. That is the day my world started. He made me a momma and I can’t not imagine my world without him!
It really has been hard for me to come to terms lately that my little boy is growing up. The year of three was the year Macyn truly lost a lot of his baby characteristics and became a little boy. He grew so much and began talking a ton more! He started preschool and is thriving in all his levels. He has a love for the outdoors, cars, dirt, and family. Macyn is such an outgoing little boy his teachers tell me he is their personal greeter for everyone that comes into the preschool! He is courageous, compassionate, loving, and our 50/50 mommy and daddy’s boy. He loves learning new things! He definitely got his hands on learning from me. Not to mention he is 44 pounds and 44 1/2 inches tall. Yes, the nurse laughed he was the same for both. Should be passing me in no time! He has my same eyes now that he is older but looks like a mix of his daddy and his pawpaw. But he truly has his own quirky personality. He keeps our house spunky and loves to be silly! Even though him and his sister like to bicker and fight sometimes, they truly are best friends. He is an amazing big brother and so protective over her when we are at the park or in public always making sure she is okay. Three’s were fun, but I can wait to see what four has in store for Macyn.
From the bottom of my heart, I am thankful everyday to be his momma. He has taught me so much. Not just in parenthood but about life. He came into our life when we least expected it but when we most needed it… Many of you have followed our family’s journey from the very start. I just wanted to say thankful from the bottom of my heart. So many have sent me messages over the years and so many have literally watched Macyn grow up. You guys are our extended family!
Tonight we will be celebrating with family and he will be getting his special PJ Mask cake he asked for. Along with pizza of course as it is his favorite and what he asks for every year!
Happy 4th Birthday Macyn!
Daddy, mommy, and sissy love you.
