Wow, that year went by fast! 2019 was the year of growth for us. In 2017 and 2018 we struggled from time to time but 2019 brought growth and foundation to the things we had be working so hard to reach. This year has been amazing for us to say the least. We got rid of our old SUV and got not only one new car, but two new cars that are safe and reliable. We finally moved out of our tiny little apartment and got a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house that can actually fit us! I began working fulltime from home and the kids both started preschool loving every bit of it. Matthew and I grew in our marriage as well as parents. We finally began paying off debt from our hard few years and actually growing our savings. The kids have grown up so much and although some days are crazy with having two toddlers 19 months apart, I have grown to love our craziness even more. This year also brought fun travel adventures like Disneyland, Yosemite, and San Diego. We even added our fur baby Max to the mix! Boy has it been a year but the best one out of the whole decade. Which is why I am so excited to see what 2020 brings! I love the feeling of a fresh start, the possibilities are endless. Here are my 2020 goals..
Work on building our savings and credit.
This is top on my list as we have some big dreams we plan on accomplishing in 2021-2022. In order to do the things we want to do, we have to build our savings as well as pay off more of our credit cards. I would love to eventually buy a house closer to my father and officially settle there. We also plan on paying off some of our credit cards and hopefully one of our car loans.
Continue my Keto and health journey.
With the holidays, I definitely slacked off a bit. This coming year I plan on diving head first. I want to reach my end goal of 155 pounds and keep working to get more fit.
Make date nights a priority.
We had a busy few months but in 2020 I want to make date nights a priority for us. We both work a lot and then have the kids so I want to make sure to put us first more often even when life is crazy. Working on your relationship even after you are married and have kids is SO important.
Heal, repair, move on.
For the past four years I’ve worked on myself and healing from the things I have been through. In 2020 I want to continue this journey but also officially close this chapter in particular and move on. I want to let go of the inner grudges I hold but still not forget. I want to close this decade and begin a new one knowing even the scars I hold inside won’t hold me back.
This is no shock, I love traveling! This year I want to travel more and do 3 out of state trips. We have a few ideas of where we want to go so as long as everything falls into place, it’ll all work out and be an epic year of adventures!
Work more but work less.
You are probably thinking, huh? What I mean is I want to work more during my dedicated time of work and less all the time. Working from home fulltime is a blessing but also a curse because I feel as though I have to constantly work. In 2020 my goal is to try harder at not having be in “the zone” 24/7.
More me time.
I began doing this in 2019 and hope to continue this. My “me time” has really helped me relax and keep my zen during the crazy, busy days. No matter if it’s me just going for a hike, to the store, or taking random photos. “Me time” is so important for ones self and as a mother it can be hard to get.
Work on being a better mother and wife.
It’s not that I’m bad but oneself can always improve. This year I was a fulltime work from home mom up until the kids started school in August/November. Let’s just say that was crazy! This year I want to work on being more understanding, patient, and fun.
Set goals each month.
Last but not least, I want to set goals each month. I know we are already talking about goals but I feel as if setting goals each individual month is also important. It keeps us working hard and our mindset straight. I want to make monthly goals and achieve them!
No matter if your 2019 was amazing or terrible, 2020 is a fresh start. It’s a new year and a new decade! We got this, together. Cheers to the 20’s.
