10 facts about me

I was inspired to write this blog from a fellow mom blogger (check her out here) and thought what fun! Some of you may already know some and some may not, but here we go!

1. I have traveled to 15 different states

As many know, I have a passion for traveling. It is one of my favorite hobbies and there is just something about seeing new places that makes my heart grow a few sizes. Since I was a kid, I have traveled to 15 different states and hope by the time I am 50, I am able to say I have traveled to every single state in the U.S. High hopes? Maybe, but I’m determined.

2. My husband and I met on Instagram.

Many of you probably read my previous blog about how we met, but if not yes we met on Instagram. He direct messaged me off and on, I ignored him, and then in January 2015 finally replied. We started officially dating a month later after meeting in person and now have been together over 4 years with two kids.

2. I have lived in 5 towns/cities and 2 states.

I was born in Sonora, Ca and began moving with my mother in the second grade. By high school, we were living in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. I did find my way “home” though and wouldn’t trade where we live now for anything.

3. I’m a natural blonde.

I get asked so much where the kids have their beautiful blonde hair from. I actually didn’t start dying my hair till I was 19 and a part of me misses my blonde hair. Then again, something about black hair suits me.

4. I have struggled with weight since I was 5.

I started very young struggling with my weight. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in kindergarten after gaining rapidly fast and it’s been a spiral since. After having our daughter, I realized the only way I could be the best mother possible was to become healthier so I did. It’s still hard and things that most people eat day to day, make me gain fast.

5. I am very strong opinionated.

Unless you know me in person, you probably don’t know this. As someone online and in the influencer world, I so often can’t state my true beliefs or thoughts which is okay. In real life, I am very opinionated and many are shocked by how to the point I can be. My poor husband, I’m not sure how he puts up with me.

6. I am obsessed with all things history.

In high school, I truly found my love for history. It was the only subject I always aced no matter what. I watch history shows constantly and almost always am looking at history books or documents online. I think in another life I would’ve been a history teacher.

7. I survived mental and emotional abuse.

This is a touchy subject but one I am proud of today. Growing up, I put on a front and lived a way no child should. I was mentally and emotionally abused as well as verbally abused for years. It took me moving out and opening my eyes to just how bad it was. It wasn’t until a year after that I began to heal and I can say now, I am glad I left when I did. I wake up every day knowing that I will never have to be treated in such a way ever again because I found my voice and my worth.

8. I love piercings and tattoos.

This is kind of a given but maybe not for some. In high school I had my belly button, nose, and ears pierced. When I met my husband, he was all tatted up. It took me until last year to finally get a tattoo since I got pregnant back to back. I now have 5 piercings and 4 tattoos, more I’m sure will come down the road. To me, it is a way of art and expression.

9. I have an obsession with boba tea.

You may laugh but I truly do. I could drink it all day, every day. Embarrassing as it sounds, boba is my happy drink and when I’m down it’s my go to. Feel free to send me some for the holidays and my birthday.

10. I use to live off money making apps.

After I moved out at 18, I lived with Matthew and his grandma while finishing high school. I had a job but my car(which I paid for with my own money) was taken away with vengeance so I was unable to get there. So I made money off of apps! That’s no joke, I paid for our groceries, phone bill, everything! Now that we are in a MUCH better place I look back and laugh. Hustling from the start!

Thanks for reading!
