3 years of marriage

It all started with an Instagram DM

Three years ago today I walked down the grassy meadow at Fahey Cabin and said “I Do” to my best friend, my soulmate, my everything. These past three years have had their challenges at times and we have had our moments, but we have grown into the power couple I always dreamt of being. We are a team. We have created a life together with our kids and become closer than I ever thought possible. Yes we have our fair deal of arguments, although I’m normally the cause, but we are strong. The past year of marriage has been our best. We have not only grown as a family getting more financially stable, getting a house, and truly settling down into our life, but also grown as husband and wife. We learned that we needed to make more time for our marriage and done just that. I can’t imagine doing life with anyone else.

As I look over on the couch watching Matthew play with the kids till they lay on the floor giggling until they can’t anymore, I wonder how I got so lucky. He is the rock to our family and I can’t imagine my life if we had never met. When I was 17, feeling lost, Matthew messaged me on Instagram. I shot him down for months but little did I know we were meant to be. We have stuck by each other’s side through nearly everything possible. In the end, stronger than the day before. I wake up every morning grateful that I have the husband I do. This is no Instagram show, this is my life. Day in and day out, no matter how little sleep he gets he gives me his all. Even when I’m stressed with work or the kids, he helps me in any way possible. He loves me unconditionally even at my weakest. I can’t wait to see where the next year and many more to come leads us.
