This past weekend my husband and I celebrated 6 happy years of marriage. It’s crazy to think that we’ve already been married for 6 years. Wow, has it been a journey so far! We’ve grown so much together over the last 6 years of marriage. I’m thankful everyday to of met my husband when I did. He saved me in more ways than I can count and has been my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the husband I always dreamed of having. I often joke with him and say that I’d be lost without him, but it’s actually the truth.

For the first time since 2020, we celebrated our anniversary with getaway for a night while the kids stayed with their grandpa. We love traveling with our kids, but it was so nice to get away for the night just us. When we decided to go away for a night, we both decided we would love to go to South Lake Tahoe.

We began our adventure early and made it to Lake Tahoe just in time for a lakeside lunch at Riva Grill. Famous for their delicious food and even better drinks, Riva Grill has a fun atmosphere and great views of the lake. We tried their homemade salt and vinegar chips which ended up being the best we’ve ever had!

After lunch we enjoyed walking around and looking at shops. My husband was so sweet and signed us up for a couples massage at Serenity Spa. The ambiance was so relaxing! We enjoyed a 50 minute couples Swedish massage and then decided to go check in to our hotel room.

We love staying at Station House Inn anytime we are in the Lake Tahoe area. No matter if you’re traveling solo, with a significant other, your fur baby, or the whole family, Station House Inn is perfect for everyone. They offer a cozy, cabin aesthetic, warmed pool, free movies on Friday nights, s’mores by the fire, and delicious food from Toulouse. In the summer it’s just a quick walk down to the lake which was perfect for viewing sunset! This trip we had the cozy king room and loved it.

We relaxed a bit before heading out to dinner. My husband and I are both big Italian food fans so we decided on Izabella for dinner. Their food was delicious with intimate romantic vibes and wonderful service. We walked around Heavenly Villiage a bit more before turning in for the night and relaxing at the hotel.

In the morning we woke up and got ready. We planned on going to breakfast and the lake, but I sadly ended up sick after breakfast so the day got cut short. It definitely won’t be the last time we visit though!

It was so nice to celebrate together in Lake Tahoe while relaxing and enjoying some us time. If there is one thing I have learned through out our marriage, it’s that you should never stop dating your spouse. Make the time, no matter how busy you may be, to spend quality time with each other on dates, getaways, and special adventures!
