As I’m sure you guys noticed, I took a two week break to recover and have some down time after my surgery. But I am back and ready to share some fun blogs with you all! It’s officially October and the holidays are right around the corner. Anyone else feel like this year is flying by? Same here! October is a pretty busy month for us between birthdays, work, school activities, and fall fun. We are hoping to make it to our local pumpkin patch this coming weekend and I can’t wait.

I had my surgery two weeks ago today and I’m still in awe with how successful it all went. My surgery ended up being almost 9 hours long. I know, wow! I am so thankful for my amazing surgeon and the entire Athenix team as well as my husband and dad. They made the surgery and post op recovery experience the best it could possibly be. I am in a garment with padding 24/7 for the first 6 weeks post surgery but anytime I take it off, I cry happy tears because for the first time in a long time I feel free! I will admit it is a lot harder to be on light duty than I realized it would be. My husband has been absolutely amazing, but it is definitely weird to have to step back as a mom and wife. Thankfully at two weeks post op now, I am slowly getting back into my normal routine just on a lighter duty. I go back at the end of the month and hopefully will be able to return to my work outs early November. I will be sharing more about my surgery and post op journey so stay tuned!

In other news, our sweet girl turned 4 a week and a half ago! It’s crazy that our spunky little blonde ladybug is already 4. McKynleigh is excelling in school and loves learning. She adores her brother and has become more of a daddy’s girl. She truly lights up our world! Matthew’s birthday is tomorrow and we have a fun celebration dinner for both of them planned this coming weekend.

Macyn is coming up on his 2nd month of kindergarten and has been loving every minute of school. He loves his teacher and has made so many friends. Every time I watch him walk up to class I realize just how much he has grown up the last year. It is so bittersweet!

Both of the kids have found their passion in sports and dance. Both Macyn and McKynleigh just finished their first season of soccer. Macyn as usual can’t wait till baseball starts back up again soon and McKynleigh is in ballet, tap, and tumbling now. We love watching them learn what their passions are!

With Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas right around the corner, we have lots of exciting things coming up and I can’t wait to share with you all.
Xoxo
