One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how I grew my Instagram page. Like many things, it frequently changes over time. Instagram has become fast paced and it takes dedication to grow and keep your audience engaged. Instagram is a great place to meet others all around the world and share your life, passion, and stories. It has opened many doors for people like myself, who create content and get paid by brands. But how? Optimizing your social media does not just happen over night. The first step in optimizing your social media is to grow an audience. Here are my top 5 tips to growing your Instagram page in 2021!
Find your brand voice and create unique content.
Finding your niche is by far the most important step in order to grow your brand. For example, I create content for motherhood and lifestyle niches. My content is created around my niche so my audience gravitates to it. Finding your brand voice is by far the most important.
Examples of some the most profitable Instagram niches:
Beauty
Fashion
Travel
Lifestyle
Parenting
Health and fitness
Business
Self-improvement
Post at least 4-5 times a week.
Posting to your Instagram page at least 4-5 times a week keeps your followers engaged and excited on what is to come next. I recommend posting one grid post and one reel a day as well as staying active in your stories. This keeps you up on the Instagram algorithm which prioritizes posts from accounts that show interest in you.
Find your best time to post.
Learning when your best time to post is vital to getting your content and page seen by followers as well as other users in your niche. You can simple go into your account, go to insights, then click audience, and scroll down. This will show you your most active times and days. Typically, you want to post between 8am est and 6pm est. This can vary depending on the content your create and your audience.
Create reels that grab your audience within the first couple seconds.
Reels have quickly made their debut on Instagram and are a great way to grow. Grabbing your audiences attention within the first couple seconds is so important to have them stick around, take a look at your page, and possibly follow you. Reels have become an important way to grow because Instagram is boosting them more than any other content right now.
Use 15-20 hashtags on each post.
Besides Instagram stories, using 15-20 hashtags on each post helps your post get seen by a bigger audience. Pick hashtags that are relevant to your post and your page. Try to choose hashtags that aren’t over saturated with other content and have millions of posts. This gives your content a bigger chance to be seen.
Have fun. Be you. Stay true.
No matter what your goal is for your social media, don’t forget to have fun and just be you. If you can create an audience that loves you for you and your content, you are on the right step to optimizing your social media!
Stay tuned for more tips!
