We are going on two weeks of social distancing at home and I think I have spent more time in the kitchen than I have in years. The kids and I have had so much fun baking, creating, and exploring new ideas with all this time we have on our hands. The other day the kids had done really good with their preschool work so I decided to do a fun afternoon treat! Luckily I had grabbed some delicious Voortman Bakery cookies when I was at the grocery store a few weeks back. I just knew they would come in handy in the midst of all that is happening. I also had some strawberries in the refrigerator. The kids decided they wanted to each pick a few cookies of their choice to add to the platter. We created a delicious, yet simple dessert platter with our favorite cookies from Voortman Bakery.
You could add so many different condiments such as a chocolate or white chocolate dipping sauce. You could even add Carmel or homemade whip cream for an extra fun dipping experience. Voortman Bakery‘s coconut crème cookies pair perfectly with some sweet milk chocolate dipping sauce with a perfect crunchy and sweet ratio. The kids loved crumbling the wafers up a little to them sprinkle over the strawberries. I personally love tasting the delicious mix of crunchy wafer with creamy filling so I stick to just plain old munching!
Voortman Bakery proudly uses real ingredients in each of their cookies such as almonds, whole grains, and coconut. I also love that they use no artificial colors, flavors, trans-fat, and or high-fructose corn syrup in any of their cookies. With each bite of cookie, flavor explodes with hints fresh shaved coconut, sweet, creamy chocolate, delicious vanilla, and sweet, juicy strawberry. They bake sugar free options which as a fellow low carb girl, I love! When a company goes above and beyond to take others who have specific dietary needs into consideration, it has my full support as it can be so hard to find quality sugar-free options.
Voortman Bakery began in 1951 when two young Dutch brothers opened up their very first bakery in Ontario, Canada. Over the years they have perfected their cookies with the same passion that they began with. From old classics to new and tasty creations, Voortmans Bakery has a passion for baking high quality, delicious cookies. They are a staple in the Mulkey house for those times you just really need a cookie!
Our groceries stores have been a bit bare the last couple weeks so I didn’t have a ton of options to grab in the kitchen but this over all was a huge hit. We enjoyed sitting around the table playing a board game, having family time, and eating our dessert platter as a little afternoon treat. Our platter wouldn’t have been complete without our favorite Voortman Bakery cookies. The perfect sweet crunch to satisfy our afternoon sweet tooth craving.
