Today is April 1st, commonly known as April Fools Day. Today people all across the world will be thinking of ways to joke with one another. When doing so, please think of your family and friends and do not joke about being pregnant. It isn’t funny. In fact, joking about pregnancy can be very hurtful for those who are struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss.
1 in 4 of your friends have experienced pregnancy loss.
1 in 8 of your friends are struggling with infertility.
Pregnancy is NOT a joke.
Imagine trying to get pregnant and not being able to. Imagine experiencing pregnancy loss and the heart ache that follow. Try for a moment, to put yourself in their shoes, and imagine how it would feel seeing pregnancy used as a joke or a prank. Many people do not discuss the pain, loss, and emotional strain from infertility and pregnancy loss. You never know who in your life is struggling so just think before you decide to do a April Fools Joke. There are plenty of other jokes out there.
