Must watch Christmas movies of 2020 on Netflix

There is nothing more special than making some hot cocoa, grabbing a cozy blanket, and having a Christmas movie marathon. Some of my favorites are The Polar Express, Dr. Suess’s The Grinch, Four Christmas’s, and Annabelle’s Wish. I of course love many of the classics, but also love some of the new Christmas movies that have come out this year. Let’s be honest, 2020 hasn’t been the best year of our life so we deserve a little extra cheer! The kids and I watched some new Christmas movies over the last few weeks on some of our favorite streaming apps including Netflix and I am pretty impressed. Plus, you already know once it’s bed time I snuggle up with some apple cider and have watched a couple(or many, whose really counting) new Christmas romance movies. After watching a Christmas movie almost, yes almost, ever day, I have put together a list of our must watch Christmas movies on Netflix of 2020!

The Christmas Chronicles 2 (Netflix)

I think this goes without saying. When we watched The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix in 2018, it became a new family favorite. They just released a sequel and it is just as much fun! Plus, Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn together in a movie is bound to be good.

Holidate (Netflix)

Starring Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey, this fun Rom-Com Christmas movie had both my husband and I laughing while also loving the romantic story line. I may be biased because I am a fan of Emma Roberts, but I thought this was the perfect Christmas movie for date night in.

Angela’s Christmas Wish (Netflix)

My kids loved the original that came to Netflix in 2018 so when we saw this on Netflix a few days ago, they of course asked to watch it. For a children friendly Christmas movie, this storyline is adorable and sure to get the kids in the Christmas spirit. There is also an original that came out a couple years ago, Angela’s Christmas.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (Netflix)

I loved this movie just as much as my kids did. Starring Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, and Hugh Booneville, this movie is a fun tale of a once upon a time toy maker has his kind and curious granddaughter come into his life. It is a must watch this Christmas season.

The Princess Switched Again (Netflix)

I just discovered this two part movie and thought it was super cute. The sequel just came out and stars a favorite of mine, Vanessa Hudgens. Make sure to watch the original movie The Princess Switch first so the second movie makes sense. A baker decides to venture to a baking competition when she sees a look alike princess to be. A perfect romantic Christmas movie for a girls night or date night in.

A California Christmas (Netflix)

This just debuted on Netflix a few days ago and I loved it. Netflix has definitely stepped up their Christmas romantic movie making the last few years. This movie is probably one of my more favorite movies this year because the acting isn’t too cheesy like some of the others.

Operation Christmas Drop

This movie was a little cheesy, but also still fun and cute. It also shares a really cool story of a real life Christmas Drop. After watching the movie, I did some research and thought it was neat it was actually a real drop that helps gives supplies and needed material to those in need on other islands.

These are just a few of the new Christmas movies that debuted on Netflix this year. There are a many other great movies and shows so definitely check out in the Christmas section on Netflix. I do love my classic Christmas movies just like anyone, but I love how accessible Netflix has made new Christmas movies each year. Especially since this year most of us are spending the holidays at home.

What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Xoxo
