Yosemite Lakes RV Resort

Our stay was sponsored by Thousand Trails but all opinions are my own.

We had the pleasure of visiting Yosemite Lakes RV Resort this past week and it was hands down my favorite trip this summer. Glamping in a Yurt, yummy s’mores, adventures to Yosemite National Park, swimming in the South Fork Tuolumne River, and even some mini golf! After such a fun trip, we will be making it a yearly tradition! Nestled only 5 miles away from the west entrance of Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Lakes RV Resort sits on 400 acres offering 254 full hook-up sites, 130 tent sites, and a variety of Yurts and Cabins spread out near the river and hillside. The resort has beautiful views of the mountains and unique sunsets while sitting by the river. One of the 81 Thousand Trails resorts spread out over the nation, Yosemite Lakes RV Resort is one of a kind and a must stay location when visiting Yosemite and other local areas such as the Stanislaus National Forest.

Taking in the sweet smell of pine needles and fresh camp coffee while listening to the birds.

The resort is not only within a quick drive of our favorite, Yosemite National Park, but also surrounded by hiking trails, swimming holes, and a ton of activities for the whole family. Being an outdoor family, camping is our favorite but this time we “glamped” in a Yurt for the first time! With a full kitchen and bathroom, spacious sleeping area, and our very own deck, it took our family getaway to the next level! We stayed in Hillside Yurt number 14 and loved every moment of it. With a beautiful landscape of mountains and trees, birds chirping in the morning, and an easy walk to the river, it was perfect. The kids loved looking up at the stars through the sky view dome and we enjoyed sitting around the fire eating s’mores. During our stay, we adventured out around the resort. The kids favorite was the mini golf, giant Jenga, and cornhole. After some games, we would dip down to the river to cool off and enjoy some swimming. With it being summer and so close to Yosemite, I was nervous it would be crowded at times but it wasn’t and we truly experienced the beauty of the woods all while staying in our Yurt.

Staying in our Yurt was a one of a kind experience and honestly, probably my new favorite way to camp. It gave us the camp feel all while allowing to still have all things we cherish like a comfy bed, full kitchen, and a bath. The resort is perfect for those that are planning a trip to Yosemite or just want a fun outdoor experience. Although we of course went to Yosemite and Tioga pass, most of our stay we spent on the resort having fun. The kids had an absolute blast on this trip, the cutest moment was Macyn telling me “mommy I want to stay it’s been so fun”. So no matter if you are planning on bringing your family, friends, romantic getaway, or even a solo trip, Yosemite Lakes RV Resort is perfect!

Inside of the Yurt. It is crazy just how much space these have! It’s like a little home honestly, everything you would ever need from kitchen filled with pans, utensils, and even a coffee pot to a bathroom with a shower.

The kids had a blast between mini golf, sports, and fun games. All is free to guests and easy to access no matter if you are tent camping or staying in a Yurt/Cabin.

We loved just exploring the resort and trails around the property. The resort is huge and there are many beautiful views of the mountains around. We had a blast exploring, hiking, and just hanging out around our Yurt.

In the family lounge they offer free WiFi, games, sports rentals, quiet reading area, pool, ping pong, and even have some cool books. The kids also enjoyed coloring and they have some great information of the local spots and attractions. I think one of the coolest parts was the world map that has pins put all over the world showing all the people that have visited the resort over time.

The South Fork Tuolumne River runs through with some beautiful views and perfect swimming holes. We loved heading down when it got hot and enjoyed some much needed swim time. There are also cabins and Yurts available with river view which will be next on our list for checking out the next time we stay.

We loved being able to bbq and cook, but the resort also has fun events such as taco truck on Saturday night and breakfast on Sundays! This is fun for the whole family and a great way to meet others from all over! They also have a local coffee shop who sells some amazing coffee most of the week right out of the family lounge!

Forget something at home? A country store and gas station is conveniently located off of the highway within walking distance! We loved running up and grabbing some treats before heading out on our adventures.

This trip was a trip to remember for sure! I can’t wait to take the kids back again. Thousand Trails has resorts all over the nation that are fun, family friendly, and perfect no matter what your family is into!
