Hello, 28!

It’s hard to believe, but here I am, celebrating my 28th birthday! This year, I’m taking a moment to reflect on how far I’ve come, what I’ve learned, and where I’m headed. So much has changed since last year, and as I enter this new chapter, I’m focused on growth—both within myself and my career.

Looking back at 27, I can confidently say it was my most successful year yet, especially in my career. I hit milestones I’d been working toward for a while, and I feel like I’m finally gaining traction in a way that feels meaningful. But beyond career accomplishments, 27 was also full of beautiful moments with my family. From spontaneous getaways to quiet Sunday afternoons, those memories are treasures I’ll hold onto forever.

As I celebrate 28, I’m embracing the theme of growth. It’s a year to invest in myself, deepen my relationships, and explore new opportunities. Growth isn’t always easy or linear, but it’s something I’m ready for—both personally and professionally.

Over the years, I’ve learned some valuable lessons. Some are deep and profound, others are more lighthearted, but each has shaped me into who I am today. So, in honor of my 28th birthday, here are 28 things I’ve learned in my 28 years:

  1. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
  2. Healthy boundaries are vital for maintaining relationships, sanity, and a sense of self.
  3. Take risks. The things that scare you the most often lead to the most growth.
  4. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Most of the things that feel like huge problems now won’t even matter in a year.
  5. It’s okay to say no. Saying no is a form of self-respect.
  6. Traveling alone can be life-changing. There’s something powerful about finding your own way.
  7. You can’t control everything, and that’s okay.
  8. Find joy in the small moments. Sometimes it’s the little things that matter most.
  9. Laughter is the best medicine. Never underestimate the power of a good laugh.
  10. Family is everything. The bonds we create with the people we love are unbreakable.
  11. Comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone’s journey is different, and that’s what makes life beautiful.
  12. Gratitude changes everything. The more you appreciate what you have, the more you receive.
  13. It’s okay to ask for help. There’s strength in knowing when to lean on others.
  14. Life is too short for bad coffee. Treat yourself to the good stuff!
  15. You don’t have to have everything figured out. The process is just as important as the destination.
  16. The best things happen when you step outside of your comfort zone.
  17. It’s okay to fail. Failure isn’t the end; it’s just a lesson.
  18. Stay curious. Never stop learning, exploring, and questioning the world around you.
  19. Don’t take yourself too seriously. We’re all just figuring it out as we go.
  20. The best memories are made with the people you love. Time spent with family and friends is priceless.
  21. Never underestimate the power of a good nap.
  22. If you want to see change, you have to be the change.
  23. Taking a mental health day is as important as a physical one.
  24. It’s okay to outgrow friendships. People change, and that’s part of life.
  25. Pay attention to the energy you surround yourself with. Positive energy is contagious.
  26. Sometimes, it’s okay to do absolutely nothing. Rest is necessary for a productive life.
  27. You don’t need permission to follow your dreams.
  28. Dance like nobody’s watching, even if they are.

As I head into 28, I’m excited about all the potential that lies ahead. The journey of growth never ends, and I’m committed to pushing myself to be the best version of myself I can be—personally, professionally, and everything in between.

So, here’s to 28! Let’s make it a year full of growth, laughter, and love.

Xoxo
